A wonderfully distinctive vintage shearling vest by Annina Design, combining warm cognac brown tones with playful woodland details. Its suede exterior is framed with smooth brown leather trim, while the natural cream shearling interior adds a rich contrast of colour and texture. The design has a charming Alpine folk character, with decorative details that make it a striking piece for autumn and winter layering.
The sleeveless silhouette features broad shoulders, a rounded neckline and generously cut armholes, creating a structured shape with plenty of room for layering. Wide leather edging follows the neckline, front opening, armholes and curved hem, giving the vest a beautifully defined outline. The contrast between the matte suede, gently lustrous leather and curly wool brings depth to the design.
Woodland appliqués decorate both the front and back. A deer beside a green fir tree appears on the front, while a larger scene of a deer among contrasting green trees forms the centrepiece of the back. Their stitched outlines and earthy colours complement the warm brown sheepskin beautifully.
Four tree-shaped buttons fasten with loops down the front, echoing the forest theme. On one side, a statement pouch pocket combines gathered brown leather with a cream shearling flap, a central leather strap and decorative cord loops. A dangling ornament beside the neckline and two tassel details at the upper back complete the vest’s unusual, rustic look.
The cream wool interior provides a cosy layer for cooler days. Wear it over a fine turtleneck with flared jeans and boots for a seventies-inspired outfit, or layer it over a flowing dress for a softer bohemian look. Its sculptural shape and intricate detailing also make it an expressive addition to a simple monochrome wardrobe.
