Vintage 70s Ivory Shearling Cape with Geometric Leather Trim
A striking vintage shearling cape in warm ivory and cream, combining a beautifully sweeping silhouette with intricate panel detailing. Its generous cut falls loosely from the shoulders, creating a sculptural shape with plenty of movement and a distinctly bohemian, seventies-inspired elegance.
The leather side has a subtly lustrous finish, with natural grain, gentle creasing and tonal variations that bring depth to the pale colour. Narrow strips of contrasting pale grey leather trace the construction, radiating from the neckline and intersecting with a curved horizontal seam. This geometric pattern continues across the back, highlighting the cape’s shape and giving it an almost sunburst-like effect.
A plush cream shearling collar frames the neck, adding a soft contrast to the smooth outer surface. A matching covered button fastens beneath the collar, leaving an elongated opening at the upper front. The rounded hem dips longer at the front and back and rises at the sides, allowing the hands to emerge beneath the sweeping edges. Fine leather binding neatly outlines the opening and hem.
Inside, the cream lamb fur displays a wonderfully rippled texture, with natural waves and curls that catch the light. The photographs also show the cape with this textured side facing out, offering a completely different look: richly tactile and softly glamorous, with the panelled leather surface concealed beneath.
