About me
1968Vintage was born as a result of being an obsessive girl, who wanted it all and wanted everything to be beautiful and unique and found by trial and error that the best way to achieve that was through vintage.
From as far back as I can remember, clothes have held a fascination for me. Innately, I knew that given the right wardrobe, a girl could conquer the world.
But it wasn't until the 1990s that I really got into the magic of vintage garments. At the time, there was a huge 70s revival and this combined with a bit of Grunge, which was so typical for the 90s, really shaped my approach to dressing.
Here at 1968Vintage, we not only adore vintage clothes for stylistic reasons though, but mostly for their ability to tell a story.
We love the late 60s (Hence the name) and 70s with their anti-war, civil rights, environmentalism, feminist and peace movements and, of course, all that rock & roll.
So after having worked in fashion for 15 years, I have decided that now is the time to share my passion with the world.
Clothes are not just clothes. Clothes, and especially vintage clothing, represent to me the countless women who have led extraordinary lives.
Clothes are pure magic. They can transport you from an ordinary girl to the belle of the boulevard. From an innocent girl to a femme fatale. And that is a powerful seduction.
My goal is to have 1968Vintage be one of the BEST places you have ever shopped at. Period.
Yours in vintage,
Jen.
